* 2008-10-22 ver. 5.00 up48 build 3251 Important note: • If downgrading and using volume replication, it will be necessary to clear the metadata on each volume using the replication function. • Volume Replication is not backwards compatible and only works with version 5.0 Build 3007 or higher. • Bonding works best with all ETH ports using the same chipset. Using different ETH ports with a different chipset works well with most good quality NICs. Please run a stress test with bonding using different ETH chipsets and check the logs before adding the servers to production. NEW: • Active/Passive iSCSI Failover with manual Failback for a single iSCSI volume. The next release will support multi-volume Failover. • Scheduling for volume replication • Chelsio firmware update functionality • iSCSI File-IO and Block-IO configuration on the WebGUI UPDATED: • PHP (v5.2.6) • Apache server (v.2.2.9) • SSLv2 disabled by default in Apache • An option to choose SSLv3, TLS, or SSLv3 + TLS encryption • Trace option disabled in Apache FIXED: • Solved the problem with overfilled snapshots and backup/data replication tasks TESTING: • LSI Management tool on WebGUI KNOWN ISSUES: • After a system update, QLOGIC HBA FC stops working in target mode. To restore this functionality, please restart the system. • MPIO mode for the QLOGIC HBA FC does not work in the DEFAULT kernel. Please switch to the BACKUP kernel to use this mode. • 64bit system configuration is not preserved after an update. If you use a 64bit system, please change from 32bit to 64bit manually. When the system boots after POST (Power on Self Test), please press the ESC or TAB key in order to enter into the Boot menu. Please select 64bit system. Once the system is up and running, please press the "hot-key" CTRL+ALT+T in the system Console and then select: Boot options --> Select system architecture, use the spacebar to mark the desired 64bit system and Apply. Then select Save changes to make this permanent. • Replication of volumes is not working between 32 and 64bit versions. • Myricom is not working when using the DEFAULT kernel 64bit operating mode. • Myricom is not working when using the BACKUP kernel 32 and 64 bit operating modes. • In case of problems running the "Repair File system" function, please disable all running tasks, including Snapshot, Data Replication, and Backup through the Web GUI. • Overfilling of Snapshot used for backup is reported only on the virtual backup device. • Rescan function is not working properly - when resizing storage connected via iSCSI Initiator. After a rescan, changes will be not visible. If this problem occurs, please restart the system. • LSI Logic Console tool for configuration of RAID controllers is not working under 64bit operating mode (with the 32bit kernel, the tool works correctly). • The system does not run stable when using the built-in iSCSI Initiator in conjunction with a Chelsio network interface card. • After restarting a server with the AppleTalk function enabled and an ADS or PDC domain connection, the AppleTalk status will always read "failed." To remedy this, please reset the AppleTalk daemon by going to the GUI then Configuration -> NAS Settings –> AppleTalk (AFP) Settings, un-checking the Use AppleTalk (AFP) box by clicking the Apply button and checking the box again to Apply again. • In 64bit system mode, VERITAS backup agent is not working. Please do not switch to a 64bit system if you are going to use VERITAS backup agent. • VERITAS backup agent works only with the old VERITAS Backup Exec up to version 10. It does not work with SYMANTEC Backup Exec. • Accusys does not work under the DEFAULT kernel. • ATTO FC/SATA does not work under the DEFAULT kernel. • Marvell SATA does not work under the DEFAULT kernel. • Neteffect does not work. • A share created on a WORM volume cannot be published via AppleTalk. • A share created on a WORM volume cannot be backed up with the local backup functionality. • Intel IO/AT is not working when using the DEFAULT kernel 32bit operating mode.
